Concrete Formwork

Shuttering Plywood & Formwork Boards

Film faced shuttering plywood and solid plastic shuttering boards for RCC slabs, beams, columns and walls, made to give more pours per sheet.

Every grade below is built for repeated concrete pours. The film face gives a smooth concrete finish and releases cleanly. The phenolic waterproof bond resists delamination when the board is wet.

Choose by how many pours you need from each sheet and by your formwork system: calibrated plywood for aluminium and system formwork, high-repetition grades for high-rise cycles, and plastic boards where water and swelling are the main concern.

Buyer's Guide

How to choose shuttering plywood

  • Count pours, not sheets: divide the sheet price by the repetitions it delivers. A higher-repetition board usually costs less per pour.
  • System formwork needs calibrated thickness: uniform thickness lets panels sit flush in aluminium frames.
  • 12mm or 18mm: 18mm takes higher concrete pressure with fewer supports; 12mm is lighter for slabs with closer supports.
  • Plastic boards don't absorb water or swell, which suits monsoon sites and long cycles.

FAQ

Shuttering & Formwork: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between film faced plywood and plastic shuttering boards?
Film faced plywood is a hardwood plywood panel with a phenolic film face and waterproof bond. Plastic shuttering boards are solid plastic, so they cannot absorb water or swell. Plywood is easier to cut and nail on site; plastic boards suit very wet conditions and long reuse cycles.
How many times can shuttering plywood be reused?
It depends on the grade and site care. Our OJA® mirror finish plywood is rated for 20+ repetitions, ZIPCO® calibrated shuttering plywood for 30+, ZIPCO® Metallic for 50+ and ZIPCO® plastic shuttering boards for 30–60+.
Which thickness of shuttering plywood should I use?
12mm and 18mm are the standard thicknesses. 18mm is preferred for walls, columns and slabs with wider support spacing; 12mm is used where supports are closer. See our 12mm vs 18mm guide for details.
